Soil Intelligence Report
Your lawn's problems start underground.
YardWise analyzes USDA soil survey data, drainage profiles, and local environmental conditions to produce a diagnostic score for the soil beneath your specific address.

What the score measures
Each score is derived from official soil horizon data and four environmental dimensions specific to your address.
Soil Texture
The ratio of sand, silt, and clay in your soil horizon. Determines water retention, root penetration, and compaction tendency.
Drainage Profile
How quickly water moves through the soil column. Affects root oxygen levels, disease pressure, and nutrient leaching rates.
Climate Context
Historical precipitation, freeze cycles, and heat accumulation mapped to your local microclimate. Lawn stress is seasonal before it becomes visible.
Environmental Load
Slope gradient, runoff potential, and surface organic matter. These factors compound over time and are invisible to standard lawn care advice.
The problem with general lawn care
Most advice is written for an average that doesn't describe your lawn.
Generic lawn blog advice
"Water deeply, twice a week" — regardless of your drainage class
"Aerate every fall" — whether your soil is compacted or not
"Add fertilizer in spring" — without knowing your soil's baseline OM
"Overseed thin areas" — without knowing why the grass is thin
Address-level soil analysis
Drainage-adjusted watering based on your soil's hydraulic conductivity
Aeration recommendations informed by bulk density and compaction indicators
Nutrient timing calibrated to your soil's organic matter and CEC profile
Root-cause identification before intervention recommendations
Inside your Soil Health Score
A structured diagnostic — not a quiz result.
0–100 Score
A single number derived from multiple data layers, calibrated against regional norms.
Category Classification
One of six labels: Optimal, Healthy, Moderate, Stressed, Compacted, or Sandy.
Root-Cause Insight
1–2 observations identifying what's driving your soil's score, in plain language.
Optional Next Steps
If your score falls below 65, we surface targeted actions for your specific soil profile.
58
Stressed
"Your soil shows elevated clay content with restricted drainage. Surface compaction is likely compounding the issue."
